One of the shows is when
blooming African coastal strip nearly a thousand miles of desert in
Namaqualand, which is covered with flowers once a year, similar to the
phenomenon of Flowering Desert in
Chile. Plants compete to attract
their pollinators with color, since water is scarce and the scene will not last
long. This marvel appears in an
episode of the new series on science popularizer Africa English naturalist David Attenboroug.
You could say that this is
the documentary definitive to
date on this vast continent. It
explores the Atlas Mountains in the north to the Cape of Good Hope, and from
the highlands of Ethiopia as far as the Congo rainforest meets the sea. Several teams were sent into the BBC sometimes,
long expeditions, just to get a few precious minutes of material for final
assembly. Africa: Eye to Eye is the result of four years of work
and looking surprised new species, new behaviors and new forms and styles of
shooting. Of all these amazing
places, today visited the blast in Florida west coast of South Africa.
