The old story of Forest Tramway goes like this. It was built in 1905 by the order and under the visionary of Maharaja of Cochin Sri. Rama Varma for transporting teak from Parambikulam wild life sanctuary to Chalakkudy. From there it will be exported to the rest of the World through Cochin Harbour.
